Saturday 8th March, 2025 as part of the Heartlands Autumn Festivalacross the long weekend!
The historic village of Ross is situated halfway between Launceston in the north and Hobart in the South. Well-servied by coaches, this is the ideal stop-over on your Tasmanian holiday, or a great excuse to take a one hour drive to indulge your senses.

Tasmania's first ever chilli and cheese festival is here!
As part of the Heartlands Autumn Festival across the long weekend, we will bring to you a world of deliciousness and fun in the historic village of Ross in the Tasmanian Midlands. Something for all ages!
HELLFIRE ALLEY
A selection of chilli providores including Ross’s very own resident chilli-head, Rob Dunn of Australian Extreme Chilli Condiments.
CHEESE HEAVEN
Meet some of Tasmania’s finest cheese providores including local region cheese-makers.
CHILLI and CHEESE CHALLENGES
For the bravehearts, a choice of four Chilli challenges and some fun Cheese Challenges to entertain you.
Fiery Pod Challenge – Who will be the last person standing to take the crown!
Great Balls of Fire Challenge – Endurance and capacity are key in this challenge involving some fireballs made by Ross’s very own Rob Dunn of Australian Extreme Chilli Condiments.
Napalm Noodles Challenge – Get into the super delicious and spicy vegetarian noodle challenge and be the first to finish to win!
Reaper Fudge Challenge – Experience the insanity of Fudging Mad’s Reaper Fudge – last person standing wins!

FOOD FOR EVERYONE
Our food vendors have a mandate to provide at least four chilli-and cheese-hemed offerings, as well as regular food.
Even our cold drinks and desserts will provide some chilli and cheese theming.
JUST FOR THE KIDS
Everyone’s favourite Animal Nursery will be there, plus some fun face-painting, and other craft activities.
Prizes for the Cutest Chilli Kid, so get that cute costume ready!

LIVE MUSIC
Great live music is always peppered in between the chilli challenges on stage. All the way from Queensland, we have guitar maestro, Sean Mullen, gracing our stage playing some hot guitar including snippets of his Satriani Tribute. He’ll also be joined by Sandra Beynon on vocals as they perform some classic rock tunes as Missy Vader and the Dark Force
Philip John has just returned from 5 years in Europe, playing his solo improv show and collaborating with countless musicians.
